Carolfest Rehearsals Begin

First of all, a huge congratulations to everyone who participated in the Silence and Music Concert last weekend – the concert went really well, and all your hard work paid off, so thank you to everyone involved!

In remedy of the sadness that inevitably comes with the ending of a concert, we write with good news – rehearsals for our 2015 Carolfest concert begin tomorrow, Wednesday 14th October!  I hope to see all you regular SUMSters back for this concert, plus anyone who wasn’t able to sing in the last concert, but would like to be part of Carolfest!

Please read the following information carefully – due to various reasons, the times and locations of rehearsals for Carolfest are different to the other rehearsals we have had this semester.

Rehearsal tomorrow will begin at 7pm in the Reading Room, upstairs in the Holme Building on the USYD campus. We will be rehearsing for the usual two hours, and taking a look at some of the repertoire we have lined up for Carolfest!

Annual General Meeting Notice

SUMS will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 29th July at 6pm, in the Holme Building Common Room. Please note: there will be no rehearsal; we will be holding a welcome back pub night afterwards at the Forest Lodge Hotel.

Elijah – Rehearsal 12

Our final rehearsal for Elijah is on at the Glebe Justice Centre on St John’s Rd from 6-9pm, and it will once again be a combined rehearsal with SUSO. Yes, this is yet another different venue, and this time it is even off campus! (Check the map here for directions). Apologies for all the moving around of venues, but we needed a big enough space to fit both SUMS and SUSO!

If you want to sing in the concert this is compulsory attendance! If you have any concerns about making this rehearsal, please contact the Secretary and/or Concert Manager.

A quick reminder also to keep selling tickets! Check the details here:
Tickets: Adult $25, Access (USU) $15.
Book online at: http://tiny.cc/elijahmay23
Tickets also available at the door.

Important: Please see attached for the bullsheet containing all the information you need to know about concert day – it is really important that you read this so that everyone is informed and everything runs smoothly on concert day.

Elijah – Rehearsal 11

Just a quick reminder for the two rehearsals this week:

The first rehearsal is this evening at 5:45 PM in the Old Darlington School (see attached map). This is an additional rehearsal not part of our weekly schedule, and the committee understands that not everyone will be able to make it. However, if at all possible please make the effort – it is really imperative not only to get an idea of how the work will sound with the orchestra, but also how Luke will conduct when he is managing both the choir and the orchestra. The plan for Monday is to go through the entire first half of the work, so please come prepared. As an extra incentive, SUSO will be holding a BBQ from 5:00 PM and SUMSters are welcome!

Our normal rehearsal this week is on in Bosch LT 4, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. We hope to see you there!
